The Ministry of Public Works has declared the extension of the quadrilateral economic corridor agreement involving Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and China for the year 2025.
The agreement renewal transpired during the visit of Uzbekistan by Maulvi Mohammad Ishaq Sahibzada, Deputy Minister of Railways at the Ministry of Public Works. In 2024, 4,200 containers traversed this corridor, prompting the extension of the accord into 2025.
Established in 2022, this economic corridor links Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and China, passing through Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan before connecting to the Hairatan-Mazar-e-Sharif railway.
The agreement’s extension is anticipated to significantly amplify transportation via this corridor, marking a pivotal stride in the commercial advancement of the region.
