Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, convened a session with the Ulema Council of Nimroz Province at his office, today, said office of the economic deputy prime minister.

The gathering saw the participation of key figures, including Acting Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Communications and Information Technology, Water and Energy, and the chairman of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat. The Ulema Council members deliberated on a range of topics, commending the nation’s enhanced security and affirming Nimroz’s dedication to supporting the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan wholeheartedly. They raised concerns about extending electricity to remote regions, ensuring access to clean water, bolstering telecommunications infrastructure, expanding coverage in distant areas, providing necessary irrigation, and addressing border challenges, among other issues.

 

In response, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted ongoing projects spanning various sectors that have notably ameliorated living standards compared to previous times. He acknowledged the historic opportunity for national progress after decades of turmoil, though acknowledging persistent challenges. He assured that the Islamic Emirate is committed to gradually resolving these matters in alignment with public priorities, given adequate time and resources.

The concerns articulated by the Nimroz Ulema Council were directed to the respective ministries for prompt action, emphasizing the utilization of available resources for resolution.
