KABUL, Mar. 24 – The Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, met with Russia’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, and his accompanying delegation at the Presidential Palace this afternoon.

Welcoming the delegation, Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar  said that Afghanistan wants to strengthen and expand economic and political relations with all countries, including Russia. Referring to the overall security situation in Afghanistan, he added that opportunities have been created for investment in all sectors and the Russian government and private sector should take part in it.

Russia’s special envoy to Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, assured of Russia’s economic, political and security cooperation with the Islamic Emirate. Is committed to taking practical steps after the appointment.

Zamir Kabulov said that after comprehensive and technical discussions with Afghan officials, Russia is ready to sign a number of agreements with the Afghan government in various fields.

The meeting was attended by the Acting Ministers of Mines and Petroleum and Industry and Trade of Afghanistan, as well as representatives of the private sector.
