KABUL, Nov. 06 – Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy prime minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, met with Ali Akbar Pasnani, Special Representative of the Aga Khan in Afghanistan this morning.

The meeting, which took place at the Presidential Palace, Ali Akbar Pasnani briefed the audience on the activities of the Aga Khan Development Network in Afghanistan in the social, cultural and economic fields adding that the Aga Khan Development Network’s offices continue to operate in these areas, and more than five historic monuments have been rebuilt in Afghanistan and our goal is to build human capacity and focus on girls’ education.

“We welcome all the activities of the Aga Khan Network for the Rehabilitation of Afghanistan and call on the Aga Khan Special Envoy to build a standard and well-equipped hospital in Afghanistan,” said Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. So that people are not forced to travel abroad for treatment.

“The Aga Khan Development Network can, in addition to its previous activities, invest in various sectors in Afghanistan and we will provide the necessary conditions and facilities for its activities,” he said adding that education is essential for all and the Ministry of Higher Education is working on a mechanism for women education.

At the end of the meeting, Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, extended best wishes to Prince Karim Agha Khan and invited him to visit Afghanistan.
