During an official trip to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Maulvi Mohammad Ishaq Sahibzada, Deputy Minister of Railways from the Ministry of Public Works of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, engaged in discussions with the Governor of Mashhad and a group of Iranian and Afghan business figures at the Khorasan Razavi Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture in separate sessions.

In the initial meeting with the Mashhad Governor, talks centered on bilateral collaboration in rail transportation as well as strategies to enhance and streamline trade exchanges. The Governor of Mashhad, while expressing support for expanded cooperation, pledged assistance across various domains, including logistics and customs matters.

Subsequently, during a joint gathering at the Khorasan Razavi Chamber of Commerce involving Afghan and Iranian entrepreneurs, discussions revolved around the opportunities and obstacles within the realms of trade and transportation. Participants emphasized the significance of attracting investments and boosting transfer capacities.

The Deputy Minister of Railways from the Ministry of Public Works reaffirmed his dedication to supporting traders from both nations and easing commercial activities.

This visit aimed to fortify bilateral cooperation in rail transport and trade between Afghanistan and Iran, with the objective of enhancing transfers, streamlining economic affairs, and advancing infrastructure. Authorities from both countries underscored the criticality of expanding rail networks and establishing shared corridors.
