KABUL, June. 03 – Acting Deputy Foreign Minister of the IEA Alhaj Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai met with Indian MEA Joint Secretary J.P. Singh and accompanying delegation.

 

Mr. Singh called ties between the two countries historic, adding that India wants to assist in line with Afghanistan’s priorities with infrastructural & small projects, capacity building, educational scholarships & humanitarian aid.

 

Welcoming the Indian delegation to Kabul, Deputy Foreign Minister Stanekzai thanked the Indian government for its humanitarian aid & assured the Indian side that Afghanistan, considering its balanced foreign policy, seeks enhanced political, economic & cultural relations with India as an important regional country.

 

The Indian delegation assured Deputy  Stanekzai of India’s non-intervention policy towards Afghanistan & that it would not interfere in Afghanistan’s domestic affairs.

Deputy Foreign Minister Stanekzai assured the Indian delegation that the Afghan-Indian relations would move forward based on mutual respect & joint bilateral legitimate interests, & would not be influenced by other countries’ inter-rivalry. To end, the two sides stressed the continuation of such meetings to strengthen bilateral relations.
