KUNDUZ, May 6 – Al-Emarah said the district of Qala-i-Zal fell with its all military installations and government facilities after Mujahideen carried out large-scale operation on Kunduz  early Saturday.

According to initial reports, Mujahideen combatants took over the district headquarters, all the checkpoints and district police headquarters, hoisting their white flag.

Mujahideen captured a large quantity of arms and ammunitions in the offensive.

Several dozens of the joint enemy personnel were killed in Qala-e-Zal.

Al-Emarah reporter said Mujahideen early Friday Mujahideen fighters stormed the enemy check posts and bases along the highway between Kunduz city and Khanabad district, inflicting casualties on over 29 enemy personnel.

Two tanks and a vehicle were destroyed, while Mujahideen seized 1 tank, 1 vehicle and a large amount of arms and ammo. Two Mujahideen are said to have embraced martyrdom in yesterday’s fighting.

Fresh reports from Kunduz suggest heavy fighting is ongoing at eastern entrance to Kunduz city, the provincial capital of Kunduz province now. Mujahideen zeroed in on the enemy posts and scores of the enemy soldiers have so far suffered casualties.

Mujahideen attacks are well underway and they are advancing on the city center.
