Following are the services and assistance provided to Afghan refugees returning through different routes in the country.

 

Nangarhar

Torkham (Durand Hypothetical Line):

 

Registration, Confirmation, and Reception Committee:

 

A total of 28 families returned through Torkham, and the committee registered and conducted biometric verification for 85 family members.

 

Transport and Shipping Committee:

 

25 families, comprising 144 individuals, were safely transported to Nangarhar, Laghman, and Kabul from Torkham. These families received a payment of 67,000 Afghanis.

 

Finance Management Committee:

 

The Financial Affairs Organizing Committee provided assistance totaling 510,000 Afghanis to 51 families.

 

Temporary Settlement Committee:

 

In Torkham, 28 families were accommodated in a short-term settlement camp.

 

Services and Health Affairs Committee:

 

Various services, including healthcare, were provided to returning refugees in Torkham Omari Camp. Food distribution included 900 meals and 19,000 liters of clean water in the Torkham camps. Additionally, 649 refugees received medical treatment. Food items and clothes, such as blankets, floors, gas stoves, 35 packages of raw food items, and miscellaneous items, were distributed.

 

Communications:

 

89 SIM cards were distributed to returnees in Torkham, free of charge, along with free minutes and internet packages.

 

Job Seeking Committee:

 

In Torkham, the employment committee registered individuals with different qualifications, including 3 post-baccalaureate degree holders, 2 memorists, 2 religious scholars, 28 poor workers, and 17 professionals, totaling 52 people. The committee also provided public awareness sessions on explosives, cleanliness, child protection, Afghanistan, and mental health programs, including games and entertainment, for 320 children.

 

Information and Public Awareness Committee:

 

In Torkham, as well as in other areas, refugees received public awareness sessions. These sessions covered topics such as registration, transportation, financial assistance, short-term settlement, understanding of the country, Islamic system, immigration, patience, tolerance, education, and training. Ombudsmen from the Amr Ba-al-Moruf and Nahi-in-ul-Munkar Department of Nangarhar province also provided awareness sessions to refugees in various locations.

 

Kandahar

Spin Boldak

 

In Kandahar, specifically in Spin Boldak along the Durand Hypothetical Line various committees have been actively providing support to returning Afghan refugees. The details of their work are as follows:

 

Registration, Confirmation, and Reception Committee:

 

A total of 23 families, consisting of 103 members, returned to the country and were successfully registered through Spin Boldak.

 

Finance Management Committee:

 

The Financial Affairs Committee extended assistance to 23 families, providing a total of 230,000 Afghanis, with each family receiving 10,000 Afghanis.

 

Temporary Settlement Committee:

 

Nineteen families in Spin Boldak were accommodated in a short-term settlement camp.

 

Services and Health Affairs Committee:

 

Returning refugees in Spin Boldak received various services, including healthcare. Food distribution included 200 meals and clean water in Spin Boldak. Additionally, 143 returnees received medical treatment. Public awareness sessions on health were conducted for 298 refugees in different areas. Clothing was also provided, including tents, blankets, and other necessary items, to refugees in the short-term camps. The Department of Communication Services distributed 56 SIM cards to the returning refugees, free of charge, along with free minutes and internet packages.

 

Job Seeking Committee:

 

The employment committee registered a total of 72 individuals, including 6 bachelor’s degree holders, 4 memorists, 46 poor workers, and 16 professionals. Public awareness sessions on explosives, cleanliness, child protection, and Afghanistan were provided to 26 children in Spin Boldak. Games and entertainment programs were also organized for these children, aiming to support their mental well-being.

 

Paktika

Angor Ada

On the Angor Ada Rout, the Committee on Services and Health Affairs provided various services, including healthcare, to returning refugees in Angur base. This included the distribution of 22 meals and clean water in Angoor Adha and Sharna.

 

The Committee on Information and Public Awareness also played a crucial role by providing important information to refugees on topics such as registration, transportation, financial assistance, short-term settlement, and a better understanding of the country, Islamic system, migration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.

 

Nimroz

 

On the Silk Road in Nimroz province, several committees worked diligently to assist returning refugees.

 

Registration, Varification and Reception Committee:

 

Forty-nine families, totaling 188 members, returned to the country and were successfully registered. Additionally, 1,309 travelers returned through the Silk Route in Nimroz province.

 

Finance Management Committee:

 

The Financial Affairs Organizing Committee provided 10,000 Afghanis to 21 families, amounting to a total of 210,000 Afghanis.

 

Temporary Settlement Committee:

 

In Nimroz, 63 families were accommodated in a short-term settlement camp.

 

Services and Health Affairs Committee:

 

Returning refugees in Nimroz received various services, particularly in the realm of healthcare. Two hundred and three refugees were treated for their medical needs. The Department of Communication Services distributed 49 SIM cards to the returning refugees, free of charge, along with free minutes and internet packages.

 

Information and Public Awareness Committee:

 

Public awareness sessions were conducted for 188 refugees traveling on the Silk Road in Nimroz Province. These sessions covered important topics such as registration, transportation, financial assistance, short-term settlement, a better understanding of the country, Islamic system, immigration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.

 

Herat

Islam Kala Rout

 

At the Islam Kala in Herat province, various committees have been actively assisting returning Afghan refugees. The details of their work are as follows:

 

Registration, Varification and Reception Committee:

 

Through Islam Qala, one family returned to the country, and all two members of this family were registered and underwent biometric verification.

 

Finance Management Committee:

 

The Financial Affairs Organizing Committee provided a cash donation of 10,000 Afghanis to the one family returning through Islam Qala.

 

Services and Health Affairs Committee:

 

Returning refugees in Herat received various services, particularly in the field of healthcare. Fifty refugees were treated for their medical needs in Herat.

 

Temporary Settlement Committee:

 

In Herat, eleven families were accommodated in a short-term settlement camp.

 

The overall statistics of the committees’ activities are as follows:

 

Registered immigrants: 101 families, comprising 378 individuals

Transported refugees: 25 families, totaling 144 individuals

Assisted refugees: Support provided to 96 families

Temporarily settled migrants: 121 families

Treated refugees: 843 individuals

Distributed SIM Cards: 194 distributed
