Afghan refugees returned to the country through different routes and were provided with essential services in different areas.

A detailed report of the proceedings is presented below:

 

Nangarhar

 

Torkham (Durand Fictitious Line):

 

Registration, Confirmation, and Reception Committee:

 

A total of 32 families returned through Torkham, and the committee successfully registered and processed the biometrics of 76 individuals from these families.

 

Finance Management Committee:

 

The Financial Affairs Organizing Committee disbursed 10,000 Afghanis to 21 families, amounting to a total of 210,000 Afghanis.

 

Transport and Shipping Committee:

 

From Torkham, 12 families comprising 56 members were safely transported to Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman, and Kabul provinces. Additionally, 2,000 Afghanis were provided to these families.

 

Services and Health Affairs Committee:

 

In Torkham, various services, including healthcare, were provided to returning refugees in the age camp. The following services were rendered:

– Food: Distribution of 800 meals and 60,000 liters of clean water in Torkham camps.

– Food items and clothes: Distribution of blankets, floors, gas stoves, 12 food packages, and other miscellaneous items to returning refugees.

– Communications: Distribution of 72 SIM cards, free of charge, with free minutes and internet packages.

 

Job Seeking Committee:

 

The Torkham Employment Committee recorded the following individuals:

– 5 bachelor’s degree holders

– 2 post-baccalaureate degree holders

– 2 memorizers of the Holy Quran

– 22 unskilled workers

– 21 skilled professionals

In total, 52 individuals were documented. The committee also conducted public awareness sessions on explosives, hygiene, child protection, Afghanistan, and provided recreational activities for 329 children, focusing on their mental well-being.

 

Information and Public Awareness Committee:

 

In Torkham, as in previous instances, public awareness sessions were conducted for the refugees. They received valuable information regarding registration, transportation, financial assistance, temporary settlement, understanding of the country, Islamic system, immigration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.

Similar awareness programs were conducted by the ombudsmen of the Propagation of virtue and Nahi-in-ul-Munkar department in Nangarhar province. Moreover, the committee collaborated with the IOM office to distribute 15 migration forms to the refugees.

 

Kandahar:

 

Spin Boldak (Durand Hypothetical Line):

 

Registration, Confirmation, and Reception Committee:

 

A total of 31 families comprising 160 members returned to the country and were registered through Spin Boldak.

 

Finance Management Committee:

 

The Financial Affairs Committee provided assistance to 35 families, amounting to a total of 350,000 Afghanis.

 

Temporary Settlement Committee:

 

In Spin Boldak, a short-term settlement camp has been established to accommodate 17 families.

 

Committee on Services and Health Affairs:

 

Various services, including healthcare, were provided to returning refugees in Spin Boldak:

– Food: Distribution of 450 meals and clean water in Spin Boldak.

– Health: Treatment provided to 157 returnees in Spin Boldak.

– Public Awareness: Conducting awareness programs on health for 420 refugees in different areas.

– Clothing: Distribution of tents, blankets, and sheets to refugees in short-term camps as per their needs.

– Communication: The Department of Communication Services distributed 60 SIM cards to returned refugees in Spin Boldak, free of charge, with free minutes and internet packages.

 

Job Seeking Committee:

 

The employment committee recorded the following individuals:

– 2 bachelor’s degree holders

– 2 post-baccalaureate degree holders

– 1 religious scholar

– 21 unskilled workers

– 24 skilled professionals

In total, 50 individuals were documented. The committee also conducted public awareness sessions on explosives, hygiene, child protection, and Afghanistan for 35 children in Torkham. Additionally, games and entertainment programs were organized for these children to promote their mental well-being.

 

Paktika:

 

Angor Ada Road:

 

Registration, Varification and Reception Committee:

 

Seven families returned to the country and registered through the Angor Ada.

 

Finance Management Committee:

 

The Financial Affairs Organizing Committee provided 10,000 Afghanis to seven families, totaling 70,000,000 Afghanis.

 

Transport and Shipping Committee:

 

Seven families from the Angur base were safely transported to their respective areas and villages.

 

Services and Health Affairs Committee:

 

Various services, including healthcare, were provided to returning refugees at the Angur base:

– Food: Distribution of 127 edible bread and clean water in Angoor Adha and Sharna.

– Health: Treatment provided to 16 returned refugees in Angur Adha and Sharna.

 

Information and Public Awareness Committee:

 

Public awareness sessions were conducted for the refugees during their journey to the Angur base. They received valuable information on registration, transportation, financial assistance, short-term settlement, understanding of the country, Islamic system, immigration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.

 

Nimroz:

Silk Road:

Registration, Varificatio and Reception Committee:

 

A total of 15 families comprising 53 members returned to the country through the Silk Road in Nimroz province. They were registered, and an additional 556 travelers also returned to the country.

 

Committee on Services and Health Affairs:

 

In Nimroz, returning refugees received the following services, including healthcare:

– Communication: The Department of Communication Services distributed 13 SIM cards to the returned refugees, free of charge, with free minutes and internet packages.

 

Committee on Information and Public Awareness:

 

Public awareness sessions were conducted for 53 migrants on the Silk Road in Nimroz Province. These refugees received valuable information about registration, transportation, financial assistance, short-term settlement, understanding of the country, Islamic system, immigration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.

 

Herat:

 

Temporary Settlement Committee:

 

Ten families have been accommodated in a short-term settlement camp in Herat.

 

Kabul:

 

Transport and Shipping Committee:

 

Thirteen families comprising 60 members were safely transported from Kabul to Kunduz, Mazar-i-Sharif, Takhar, Baghlan, and Paktia provinces. The total transportation cost for these families was 57,500 Afghanis.

 

The overall figures for the various activities of all committees are as follows:

 

– Registered immigrants: 53 families comprising 235 individuals

– Transported refugees: 32 families comprising 138 individuals

– Assisted migrants: 63 families

– Temporarily settled migrants: 27 families

– Treated refugees: 173 individuals

– Distributed SIM cards: 73 digits
