Afghan refugees returned through various routes in the country, and they received necessary services in different areas. Here is the detailed report:
Nangarhar
Torkham (Durand Fictitious Line)
Registration, Confirmation, and Reception Committee:
Through Torkham, a total of 26 families returned to the country, and the committee registered and conducted biometric data collection for 51 members of these families.
Finance Management Committee:
The Financial Affairs Committee provided assistance to the 26 families with 10,000 Afghanis each, totaling 260,000 Afghanis.
Transport and Tranfer Committee:
From Torkham, 13 families comprising 63 members were safely transported to Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman, and Kabul provinces. These families were provided with a rent allowance of 9,500 Afghanis.
Temporary Settlement Committee:
In Torkham, 30 families were accommodated in a short-term settlement camp.
Services and Health Affairs Committee:
Various services, including healthcare, were provided to returning refugees at Torkham Omari Camp. The following services were offered:
– Food: Distribution of 600 meals and 60,000 liters of clean water in Torkham camps.
– Food items and clothes: Distribution of blankets, floors, gas stoves, 34 packages of raw food items, and other miscellaneous items to the returned refugees.
– Communications: Distribution of 99 SIM cards with free minutes and internet packages to the returnees, free of charge.
Job Seeking Committee:
In Torkham, the committee recorded a total of 102 individuals, including 5 bachelor’s degree holders, 1 post-baccalaureate degree holder, 4 religious scholars, 35 workers, and 57 professionals.
The committee also provided public awareness sessions on explosives, cleanliness, child protection, and knowledge about Afghanistan to 94 children in Torkham. Games and entertainment programs were organized for these children to promote mental health.
Information and Public Awareness Committee:
In Torkham, public awareness sessions were conducted for the refugees, covering topics such as registration procedures, transportation, financial assistance, short-term settlements, understanding of the country’s Islamic system, immigration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.
Similarly, awareness programs were conducted for refugees in different areas by the ombudsmen of the Amr Ba-al-Moruf and Nahi-in-ul-Munkar Department of Nangarhar Province.
Additionally, the committee coordinated with the IOM office to distribute 27 immigration forms to the refugees.
Kandahar
Spin Boldak (Durand Fictitious Line)
Through Spin Boldak, a total of 38 families comprising 210 members returned to the country and were successfully registered.
The Financial Affairs Committee provided assistance to the 38 families, granting each family 10,000 Afghanis, totaling 380,000 Afghanis.
Transport and Transfer Committee:
From Spin Boldak, 10 families with a total of 55 members were safely transported to Kabul province. These families were provided with a rent allowance of 30,000 Afghanis.
In Spin Boldak, 20 families were accommodated in a short-term settlement camp.
Various services, including healthcare, were provided to returning refugees in Spin Boldak. The following services were offered:
– Food: Distribution of 600 meals and clean water in Spin Boldak.
– Health: Treatment provided to 195 returnees in Spin Boldak.
– Public Awareness: (330) refugees received public awareness sessions on various health-related topics.
– Clothing: Distribution of tents, blankets, and clothing items based on the needs of refugees in the short-term camps.
– Communication: The Department of Communication Services distributed (81) SIM cards to the returned refugees free of charge, including free minutes and internet packages.
Mosques and Education Organizing Committee:
in collaboration with the officials of the culture and information department of Nangarhar Province’s education department, the organizing committee of mosques and education registered 19 students to facilitate their further education. Similar facilities will be established during the enrollment period in educational institutions.
The committee also ensures that refugees returning through Torkham, whose children’s education is incomplete, are officially introduced to their respective provinces for the completion of their remaining education after completing the initial stages.
The employment committee in Spin Boldak registered a total of 60 individuals, including 1 hafiz, 1 religious scholar, 44 workers, and 14 professionals.
The committee also conducted public awareness sessions on explosives, cleanliness, child protection, and knowledge about Afghanistan for 58 children in Spin Boldak. Games and entertainment programs were arranged for these children to promote their mental well-being. Moreover, the committee successfully reunited 3 separated children with their families.
Paktika
Angor Ada Road
Accreditation, Registration, and Reception Committee:
Through the Angur base, 2 families have returned to the country and successfully registered.
The Financial Affairs Organizing Committee has provided a donation of 10,000 Afghanis to 1 family.
One family from the Angur Base has been safely transported to their respective area and village.
In the Angor Ada, 25 families have been accommodated in a short-term settlement camp.
Various services, including healthcare, were provided to returning refugees in the Angur base. The following services were offered:
– Food: Distribution of 31 meals and clean water in Angur Adha and Sharan.
– Health: Treatment provided to 20 returning refugees in Angor Ada and Sharna.
Refugees on their way to the Angur base received public awareness sessions. They were provided with useful information regarding registration, transportation, financial assistance, short-term settlement, understanding of the country, Islamic system, migration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.
Nimroz
Silk Road
Registration, Varification and Reception Committee:
Eight families, consisting of 24 members, have returned to the country and successfully registered. Additionally, 1099 passengers have returned through the Silk Route in Nimroz province.
In Nimroz Silk Road, 58 families have been accommodated in a short-term settlement camp.
Various services, including healthcare, were provided to the returning migrants along the Nimroz Silk Road. The following services were offered:
– Communications: Communications and Information Technology officials distributed 6-digit SIM cards to the refugees free of charge, including free minutes and internet packages.
Public awareness sessions were conducted for 24 migrants on the Silk Road in Nimroz Province. They were provided with useful information regarding registration, transportation, financial assistance, short-term settlement, understanding of the country, Islamic system, immigration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.
Herat
In Herat, 32 families have been accommodated in a short-term settlement camp.
