Afghan refugees returned to various parts of the country through different routes. The committees responsible for their reception and assistance provided the following services:
Nangarhar
Torkham (Durand Hypothetical Line)
Registration, Confirmation, and Reception Committee:
49 families, comprising a total of 110 members, returned through Torkham. They were successfully registered and underwent biometric procedures.
Finance Management Committee:
The Financial Affairs Committee provided financial assistance to 45 families, amounting to a total of 450,000 Afghanis. Each family received 10,000 Afghanis.
Transport and Transfer Committee:
19 families, comprising a total of 98 members, were safely transported to provinces such as Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman, and Kabul from Torkham. These families were provided with a total payment of 41,500 Afghanis.
Temporary Settlement Committee:
A short-term settlement camp was established at Torkham to accommodate 25 families.
Services and Health Affairs Committee:
In Torkham’s Omari Camp, various services, including health facilities, were provided to returning refugees:
– Food: 500 meals and 75,000 liters of clean water were distributed in Torkham camps.
– Food items and clothes: Blankets, floors, gas stoves, and 44 packages of raw food items, along with other miscellaneous items, were distributed to the returning refugees.
– Communications: 141 SIM cards with free minutes and internet packages were distributed to the returnees.
Job Seeking Committee:
The Torkham Employment Committee registered a total of 55 individuals, including:
– 3 individuals with bachelor’s degrees.
– 1 individual with a master’s degree.
– 13 poor workers.
– 37 professionals.
The committee also conducted public awareness programs for 127 children in Torkham, covering topics such as explosives, cleanliness, child protection, Afghanistan, and provided games and entertainment activities for their mental well-being.
Information and Public Awareness Committee:
Public awareness sessions were conducted for the refugees in Torkham, focusing on registration, transportation, financial assistance, short-term settlement, and providing an understanding of the country, Islamic system, migration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.
The Amr Ba-al-Moruf and Nahi-in-ul-Munkar Department of Nangarhar Province also facilitated awareness programs in different areas. Additionally, the committee distributed 20 immigration forms in coordination with the IOM office.
Kandahar
Spin Boldak (Durand Fictitious Line)
Through Spin Boldak, 36 families comprising a total of 212 members have returned to the country and successfully registered with the committee.
The Financial Affairs Committee provided financial assistance to 36 families, amounting to a total of 360,000 Afghanis. Each family received 10,000 Afghanis.
In Spin Boldak, 52 families have been accommodated in a short-term settlement camp to meet their immediate housing needs.
Various services, including healthcare, have been provided to the returning refugees in Spin Boldak:
– Food: 700 meals and clean water have been distributed in Spin Boldak.
– Health: 322 returnees received medical treatment in Spin Boldak.
– Public Awareness: 463 refugees were provided with public awareness sessions on various health-related topics.
– Clothing: Tents, blankets, and clothing items were distributed to refugees in the short-term camps based on their needs.
– Communication: The Department of Communication Services distributed 390 SIM cards to the returnees free of charge, including free minutes and internet packages.
The Employment Committee registered a total of 165 individuals, including:
– 4 individuals with bachelor’s degrees.
– 3 individuals who have memorized religious texts.
– 2 religious scholars.
– 119 poor workers.
The committee also conducted public awareness programs for 48 children in Spin Boldak, covering topics such as explosives, cleanliness, child protection, and Afghanistan. Games and entertainment activities were provided to promote the mental well-being of these children. Furthermore, the committee identified and reunited 6 missing children with their families.
Paktia
In Paktia, one family has been accommodated in a short-term settlement camp to address their immediate housing needs.
Paktika
Angor Ada Road
Various services, including healthcare, were provided to the returning refugees at the Grape Base:
– Food: 58 meals and water were distributed in Angoor Adha and Sharan.
– Health: 10 returning refugees received medical treatment in Angoor Adha and Sharan.
Public awareness sessions were conducted for the refugees along the Grape Base road:
The refugees were given valuable information regarding their registration, transportation, financial assistance, short-term settlement, and an understanding of the country, Islamic system, migration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.
Nimroz
Silk Road
Accreditation, Registration, and Reception Committee:
23 families with a total of 86 members have returned to the country through the Silk Road in Nimruz province. They have been successfully registered, and 1526 travelers have also returned to the country.
The Financial Affairs Organizing Committee provided assistance to 9 families with 10,000 Afghanis, totaling 90,000 Afghanis.
In Nimruz, 27 families have been accommodated in a short-term settlement camp to address their immediate housing needs.
Committee on Services and Health Affairs:
The following services, including healthcare, were provided to the returning migrants on the Silk Road in Nimruz:
– Communications: 23 SIM cards were distributed to the refugees free of charge, including free minutes and internet packages, by the officials of the Communications and Information Technology department.
Public awareness sessions were conducted for 86 refugees traveling on the Silk Road in Nimruz Province. They were provided with valuable information regarding their registration, transportation, financial assistance, short-term settlement, and an understanding of the country, Islamic system, migration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.
Herat
In Herat, 52 families have been accommodated in a short-term settlement camp to meet their immediate housing needs.
Kabul
Transport and Shipping Committee:
From Kabul, 26 families comprising 75 members have been safely transported to Kunduz, Takhar, and Khost provinces at a total cost of 57,500 Afghanis.
The total figures of various activities of all the committees are as follows:
– Registered immigrants: 108 families, 408 individuals
– Deported refugees: 45 families, 173 individuals
– Assisted refugees: 90 families
– Temporarily settled migrants: 157 families
– Treated refugees: 332 individuals
– Distributed SIM Cards: 554 digits
