Afghan refugees returned through various routes in the country and received necessary services in different areas. The comprehensive report is as follows:
Nangarhar
Torkham (Durand Fictitious Line)
Registration, Verification, and Reception Committee:
A total of 44 families returned to the country via Torkham, and 102 members of these families were registered and underwent biometric procedures.
Finance Management Committee:
The Financial Affairs Organizing Committee provided 10,000 Afghanis to 31 families, totaling (310,000) Afghanis.
Transportation and Transfer Committee:
18 families comprising 90 members were safely transported from Torkham to Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman, and Kabul provinces. These families were provided with a rental allowance of 44,500 Afghanis.
Services and Health Affairs Committee:
Various services, including healthcare, were provided to the returning refugees at the Torkham camp:
– Food: 750 meals and 80,000 liters of clean water were distributed in the Torkham camps today.
– Food items and clothing: Blankets, floor coverings, gas stoves, 40 packages of essential food items, and other miscellaneous items were distributed to the returning refugees.
– Communication: 131 SIM cards were distributed to the returnees, free of charge, along with free minutes and internet packages.
Job Seeking Committee:
The employment committee in Torkham registered the following individuals:
– 4 bachelor’s degree holders
– 3 diploma holders
– 1 hafiz (memorizer of the Quran)
– 2 religious scholars
– 40 laborers from impoverished backgrounds
– 53 professionals
In total, 103 professionals were registered.
The committee also provided public awareness programs on explosives, hygiene, child protection, and Afghanistan to 67 children in Torkham. Games and entertainment activities were organized for the children to promote their mental well-being.
Information and Public Awareness Committee:
Public awareness sessions were conducted for the refugees in Torkham. The refugees were provided with valuable information regarding their registration, transportation, financial assistance, temporary settlement, as well as an understanding of the country, the Islamic system, migration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.
Similarly, the ombudsmen from the Order of virtue and prevention of vice Department of Nangarhar Province provided awareness programs to refugees in different areas. Additionally, in coordination with the IOM office, the committee distributed 30 immigration forms to the refugees.
Kandahar
Spin Boldak (Durand Fictitious Line)
A total of 23 families comprising 146 members returned to the country and were registered through Spin Boldak.
The Financial Affairs Committee provided financial assistance of 10,000 Afghanis to 23 families, amounting to a total of 230,000 Afghanis.
Transportation and Tranfer Committee:
4 families consisting of 16 members were safely transported from Spin Boldak to Helmand province. These families were provided with a rental allowance of 4,000 Afghanis.
Various services, including healthcare, were provided to the returning refugees:
– Food: 420 meals and water were distributed in Spin Boldak.
– Health: 114 returnees received medical treatment in Spin Boldak.
– Public awareness: 311 refugees were educated on health-related topics in different areas.
– Clothing: Tents, blankets, and clothing were distributed to refugees in temporary camps.
– Communication: The Telecommunication Services Agency distributed 156 SIM cards with free minutes and internet packages to the returned migrants at no cost.
The Employment Committee in Spin Boldak registered the following individuals:
– 2 bachelor’s degree holders
– 1 diploma holder
– 4 religious scholars
– 55 laborers from impoverished backgrounds
– 14 professionals
A total of 76 professionals were registered. The committee also conducted public awareness programs on explosives, hygiene, child protection, and Afghanistan for 27 children in Spin Boldak. Furthermore, the committee successfully reunited one lost child with their family.
Paktika
Angor Ada Road
The returning refugees at Angur base received the following services, including healthcare:
– Food: 53 loaves of bread and clean water were distributed in Angur Adha and Sharna.
– Health: 20 returned refugees received medical treatment at the Angur base.
Nimroz
Silk Road
Accreditation, Registration, and Reception Committee:
A total of 29 families, consisting of 99 members, returned to the country and were registered. Through the Silk Road in Nimroz province, 1,432 passengers have returned.
A total of 30,000 Afghanis in cash was donated to 3 families traveling through the Silk Road in Nimruz Province, with each family receiving 10 Afghanis.
The following services, including healthcare, were provided to the refugees returning on the Nimroz Silk Road:
– Communication: Officials from the communication and information technology department distributed 29 SIM cards to the refugees free of charge.
Public awareness sessions were conducted for 99 refugees traveling on the Silk Road in Nimruz Province. They were provided with valuable information regarding their registration, transportation, financial assistance, temporary settlement, as well as an understanding of the country, the Islamic system, migration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.
Aggregate figures of activities from all gates and committees are as follows:
– Total Registered Migrants: 96 families, 347 individuals
– Total Transferred Migrants: 22 families, 106 individuals
– Total Assisted Migrants: 57 families
– Total Refugees Treated: 134 individuals
– Distributed SIM Cards: 316 numbers
