On Wednesday, 03/01/2024, Afghan refugees returned through various routes in the country and received necessary services in different areas. The detailed report is as follows:

 

Nangarhar

 

Torkham (Durand Fictitious Line)

 

Finance Management Committee:

The Financial Affairs Organizing Committee assisted 30 families with a total of 300,000 Afghanis.

 

Committee on Transport and Shipping:

15 families comprising 71 members were safely transported from Torkham to Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman, and Kabul provinces.

 

Temporary Settlement Committee:

A total of 15 families were accommodated in a short-term settlement camp in Torkham.

 

Services and Health Affairs Committee:

Various services, including healthcare, were provided to the returning refugees in the Torkham camp today.

– Food: 950 meals and 80,000 liters of clean water were distributed in Torkham camps.

– Food items and clothes: Blankets, floors, gas stoves, 32 packages of raw food items, and other miscellaneous items were distributed to the returned refugees.

– Communications: 132-digit SIM cards with activated free minutes and internet packages were distributed to the returned migrants.

 

Mosques and Education Organizing Committee:

In collaboration with the officials of the auxiliary and information department of the Nangarhar province education department, the organizing committee registered 9 students for further education and facilitated enrollment in educational institutions.

For refugees returning through Torkham with incomplete education for their children, the committee ensures that they are officially introduced to their provinces to complete their remaining education.

 

Job Seeking Committee:

The Employment Committee registered 3 bachelor’s degree holders, 44 poor workers, and 53 professionals in Torkham, totaling 100 individuals.

The committee also provided public awareness sessions on explosives, cleanliness, child protection, Afghanistan, and mental health through games and entertainment programs for 149 children in Torkham.

 

Information and Public Awareness Committee:

Public awareness sessions were conducted for the refugees in Torkham, covering topics such as registration, transfer, financial assistance, short-term settlement, understanding of the country, Islamic system, migration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.

Ombudsmen from the Amr Ba-al-Moruf and Nahi-in-ul-Munkar Department of Nangarhar Province also provided awareness to refugees in different areas.

Additionally, the committee distributed 40 immigration forms to the refugees in coordination with the IOM office.

Kandahar

Spin Boldak  (Durand Fictitious Line)

Registration, Confirmation, and Reception Committee:

58 families comprising 299 members returned to the country and were registered through Spin Boldak.

 

Finance Management Committee:

The Financial Affairs Committee provided assistance to 59 families, totaling 59,000 Afghanis.

 

Committee on Transport and Shipping:

Nine families with 42 members from Spin Boldak were safely transported to Kabul today, and these families were given 20,000 Afghanis as rent.

 

Temporary Settlement Committee:

Thirty-seven families were accommodated in a short-term settlement camp in Spin Boldak.

 

Srrvices and Health Affairs Committee:

Various services, including healthcare, were provided to the returning refugees in Spin Boldak today.

– Food: 550 meals and water were distributed in Spin Boldak.

– Health: 261 returnees received treatment in Spin Boldak.

– Public awareness sessions on health were conducted for 365 refugees in different areas.

– Clothing: Tents, blankets, and clothing items were distributed to refugees in the short-term camps.

– Communication: The Telecommunication Services Agency distributed 154 SIM cards with free minutes and internet packages to the returned refugees.

 

Job Seeking Committee:

The Employment Committee recorded the registration of 2 bachelor’s degree holders, 3 memorists, 4 religious scholars, 75 poor workers, and 22 professionals in Spin Boldak, totaling 104 individuals.

Public awareness sessions on explosives, cleanliness, child protection, and Afghanistan were conducted for 46 children in Spin Boldak. Games and entertainment programs were also provided to promote mental health. Additionally, the committee successfully reunited one lost child with their family.

 

Paktika:

 

Today, two families returned to the country and were registered through the Angur base in Paktika.

Services and Health Affairs Committee

Various services, including healthcare, were provided to the returning refugees at the Angur base.

– Food: 60 meals of bread and water were distributed in Angur Adha and Shirna.

– Health: Eight returnees received treatment at the Angur base.

 

Nimroz

Silk Road:

 

Accreditation, Registration, and Reception Committee:

41 families comprising 161 members returned to the country through the Silk Road of Nimroz province and were registered. Additionally, 1,713 travelers returned to the country.

 

Finance Management Committee:

12 families in Nimroz province received cash assistance of 10,000 Afghanis, totaling 120,000 Afghanis.

 

Temporary Settlement Committee:

Thirty-seven families were accommodated in a short-term settlement camp in Nimroz.

Services and Health Affairs Committee:

The following services, including healthcare, were provided to the refugees who returned on the Nimroz Silk Road:

– Communication: Forty-one SIM cards were distributed to the refugees by officials of communication and information technology for free, including free minutes and internet packages.

 

Information and Public Awareness Committee:

Public awareness sessions were conducted for 161 refugees on the Silk Road of Nimroz Province. The refugees received useful information about registration, transfer, financial assistance, short-term settlement, understanding of the country, Islamic system, migration, patience and tolerance, education, and training.

 

Herat

 

Temporary Settlement Committee:

28 families were accommodated in a short-term settlement camp in Herat.

 

The aggregate figures of the various activities of all the routes and committees are as follows:

– Total Registered Migrants: 101 families, 464 individuals

– Total Migrants Transferred: 24 families, 113 individuals

– Total Assisted Migrants: 101 families

– Total refugees treated: 269 people

– Temporarily settled migrants: 117 families

– Distributed SIM cards: 327 numbers
