KABUL, Jan. 26 – Several energy projects discussed during an official visit to Turkmenistan, said Da Afghanistan Breshma Sherkat (DABS) in a statement.

A high-level delegation of Afghanistan led by Mawlawi Abdul Latif Mansur, Minister of Energy and Water, and Mula Muhammad Hanif Hamza, CEO of DABS discussed various topics such as the TAPI Project, completion of 500 kV Transmission Line (Sheberghan-Dasht-e-Alwan) and Noor-ul-Jehad substation with officials of ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan in an official visit to Ashgabat.

The leadership of Minisrry of Energy and Turkman Energo stated that the practical work of the 500 kV project was completed within the territory of Turkmenistan three years ago and they are waiting for the Afghanistan side.

Meanwhile, they will send a technical team to Afghanistan to carry on further conversations on the completion of the 500 kV Transmission Line.

The 500 kV and substations project will transfer 1000 MW of electricity from Turkmenistan to Kabul and other provinces.

In the initial phase, it will import 450 MW of electricity to the downstream provinces.

After the completion of this project, the electricity needs of DABS will be obviated.
