KABUL, Mar. 07 – The $2.20 million Ghazni-Kandahar 220 KV power transmission line project is being finished by the Afghanistan Electricity Company (Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat DBAS), announced DABS in a statement on Tusday.

The remaining 120 foundation pillars will be built in five lots (parts), which are situated along the project’s route in Ghazni, Zabul, and Kandahar provinces, over the course of 124 working days.

The Ghazni-Kandahar 220 KV transmission line project is one of the most significant projects of the IEA and DABS that connects the north-eastern and south-eastern electricity systems of the country.

The practical work of this project started in 1396, the construction work is 75 percent and the total progress is 88 percent.

Following the advent of the IEA, the construction work of the said project was stopped in the whole country. Currently, according to the order of the Al-Wozra Department, it was decided to carry out the said work. The construction work will be done by Sayeqa Energy Construction Contracting Company at the cost of 2.2 million dollars, at the financial cost of Afghanistan Electricity Company.

In addition, the rest of the project will be completed and the project will be handed over after the approval of the leadership of the IEA.

This project with a capacity of 300 megawatts passes through Ghazni, Zabul and Kandahar provinces, and upon its completion, the residents of these provinces will enjoy the convenience of electricity.
