KABUL, Dec. 13 – Afghanistan Electricity Company -Da Afghanistan Breshana Sherkat – has activated a 60 megawatt thermal power plant to reduce power outage in Kabul and 11 other provinces.
This comes while Uzbekistan has cut off 66% of its electricity to Afghanistan due to the lack of energy in the country for a few days, imparting serious power outage problems for Kabul and the related provinces.
Meanwhile provinces that are facing problems due to the electricity restrictions of Uzbekistan will be provided with electricity for two hours during the day and two hours at night.
In addition to the mentioned 11 provinces, DABS has expressed concern for the customers of Herat province, where two terminals of the Turkmenistan line were damaged due to a natural disaster and over 50% of its customers are without electricity til the restoration of these terminals.
