KABUL, Feb. 20 – For the first time in the history of Afghanistan’s customs, 11 Billion AFN revenue has been collected from the country’s customs during 11 months of this fiscal year (1401), said ministry of finance in a statement.

Before the rule of the Islamic Emirate, the annual revenue of the country’s customs had never been higher than 72 billion AFN.

 

Despite the fact that the customs duty on basic food items has been reduced by 67% by the leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan; However, one month before the end of the financial year, the customs revenue has been reached 100 billion AFN.

 

The unprecedented surg in customs revenue is indicative professional and committed personnel have been appointed in the customs. Corruption has been reduced to zero and there has been full transparency in affairs.

 

At present, all the customs offices of the country are operating 24 and 16 hours for the purpose of fast transit of commercial goods and all the obstacles that created problems for the businessmen or created the ground for corruption have been eliminated.

The Ministry of Finance, especially the General Directorate of Customs, is committed to modernizing the country’s customs and creating necessary facilities for traders in all customs; To increase the national customs revenue and transfer it to the state treasury with full transparency.
