The Acting Minister of Public Works has entered into agreements with two private firms for the construction of a 31.6 km road linking Maidan Wardak and Logar provinces.
Alhaj Mullah Mohammad Isa Sani, the Acting Minister of Public Works, finalized a contract for the development of a 31.6 km road connecting Maidan Wardak and Logar provinces, valued at over 713 million Afghanis, with two construction and road construction companies.
The road, spanning 31.6 kilometers and incorporating the construction of 120 culverts, begins at Qala-e-Amir Darreh-e-Tangi, traverses through Alozi, Dogh Abad, and Sholak Babus regions, and culminates at Pul-e-Alam, the capital of Logar province. Completion of the road construction is anticipated within 16 months.
The initial segment of the road extends 17.4 kilometers, with a construction agreement signed with Ichco Construction Company for a sum of 473,884,927 Afghanis. The subsequent 14.2 km section’s construction contract, valued at 239,448,378 Afghanis, was awarded to Tabesh Omid Construction and Road Construction Company.
Moreover, on Thursday, the acting minister of public works engaged in contract signings with five private entities for the survey and detailed design of the Herat-Kandahar railway project, estimated at approximately 264 million Afghanis.
