Construction work of 50-km Maruf-Arghistan road kicks off

KANDAHAR, Nov. 22 – Ministry of Public Works, starts construction work of the Maruf-Arghistan district road of Kandahar province, said the ministry in a statement.

The work inaugrated by Mawlawi Agha Jan the legal adviser of this ministry, Kandahar community chief Alhaj Mulla Abdul Hadi Yaqoob, the ministry’s spokesperson Mawlawi Hamidullah Misbah and a number of tribal philanthropists of the region.

This road has a total length of 50 kilometers connecting Maruf and Arghistan districts, and currently its construction is contracted to by Ministry of Public Works to 2 private construction companies (Universal and ZKB) and is funded by the Ministry of Public Works.

 

The construction is supposed to create employment residents of the area and after completion, it will solve transportation problems of the residents of Maruf and Arghstan districts and will connect them with Kandahar city.
