A project has been initiated to construct a retaining wall in Kandahar province, with an estimated cost of nearly two million Afghanis.
The Ministry of Water and Energy has announced the commencement of a project to erect a 200-meter retaining wall in Kandak Manda, located in the Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province, at a cost of nearly two million Afghanis.
As per ministry officials, upon the completion of this initiative, not only will it prevent flood-related damages, but it will also address the longstanding issues faced by the local residents.
Officials further state that the project has created employment opportunities for numerous individuals and is scheduled to be finalized and operational within a span of two months.
The ministry reports that this project is being executed under the supervision of the Kandahar Water and Energy Department, with financial backing from the United Nations Development Program.
