The Ministry of Finance has announced the completion and commencement of operations at the parking lot at Hairatan Customs.
Constructed by the General Directorate of Customs at a cost exceeding 49 million Afghanis, the parking lot features concrete surfacing on 4.5 acres of land and gravel surfacing on 10 acres and 500 square meters, with a capacity to accommodate approximately 130 trucks simultaneously.
Furthermore, the parking lot includes well-defined pedestrian pathways, 1,240 square meters of green spaces, 19 absorption wells, 10 lighting electric poles, and a 400-meter-long stone wall for additional parking on another gravelled section.
The establishment of this parking facility will offer numerous conveniences to drivers, traders, and customs personnel involved in the clearance of commercial merchandise. Notably, the project’s funding was drawn from the Ministry of Finance’s development budget, and the construction was successfully completed within seven months by a local Afghan firm.
