The initiation of the construction of a waiting hall for passengers and a parking lot for vehicles at Maulana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi Airport in Mazar-e-Sharif has been announced, with a total cost of 73 million Afghanis.
Mullah Adam Bilal, the airport’s general director, disclosed that the Ministry of Transport and Aviation will oversee this project in the airport’s northwestern section.
This endeavor will be executed through a contract with the Nile Ghaznavi Company for logistical and construction services, amounting to a sum of 73,194,750 Afghanis.
The designated area for this parking lot and waiting hall spans 18,200 square meters and will accommodate up to 1,000 vehicles. The project is slated for completion within a duration of one year and two months.
This parking facility is set to adhere to the standards stipulated by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), ensuring the provision of all essential amenities and services.
