The Ministry of Public Works financed the development of this 37-kilometer stretch of the Kandahar-Kabul road, commencing from Marwandi Manda in Daman district and extending towards the Kandahar borders. The construction was carried out to meet basic and standard specifications and was officially opened for public use. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Governor of Kandahar, Alhaj Mullah Mohammad Sadiq Inqelab, alongside several other dignitaries.
Sher Hassan Khushiwal, a Technical Engineer at the Public Works Department, noted that the construction of this highway, which began one and a half years ago, was completed and officially inaugurated on Monday. The project, totaling 550 million Afghanis in expenses, was funded through the Ministry of Public Works’ private budget. Khushiwal mentioned that the final touches on the road’s surfacing are pending and will be concluded shortly.
Deputy Governor Alhaj Mullah Mohammad Sadiq Inqilabi expressed immense satisfaction regarding the completion of this vital road infrastructure. He extended gratitude to the dedicated officials working tirelessly on this project, emphasizing that despite the widespread destruction over the past two decades, the current administration is actively engaged in nationwide reconstruction, development, and resettlement initiatives, exemplified by the progress on the Kabul-Kandahar Highway.
