According to ministry of water and energy the implementation of a project involving four check dams in Paktika province has been completed, with a total cost close to fourteen million Afghanis.

These check dam initiatives were funded by the Ministry of Water and Energy and were executed by two local companies overseeing the Gomal sub-basin.

In total, these check dams have a combined water storage capacity of 83,501.11 cubic meters.

 

The specific check dams are as follows: the Mashin village check dam in Nimatabad district, the Tarkha check dam in Yusuf Khel district, the Faqiran check dam in Barmal district, and the Boza check dam in Tarwa district of Paktika province.
