KHOST, Mar. 05 – Construction of a bridge in Khost province has been completed and opened for operation at the cost of 40 million AFN.

This brand-new bridge, which was constructed in the Ismailkhel Mandozi district’s residential sector, was devastated by severe flooding in past.

According to provincial officials this bridge, which is 60 meters long and 10 meters wide, has been completed and put into operation in the last five months.

Mawlawi Akhtar Mohammad Ikrama, the head of Khost province’s govenor office, said during the bridge’s inauguration ceremony that the government’s budget had covered the expense of the bridge.

According to him, 250 meters long retaining walls have been built on both sides of this bridge to protect against floods.

On the other hand, locals assert that the Mishkoone Bridge also connects parts of Tani District to Khost City, in addition to Khost’s Malki Airport and Ismail Khel Mendozi District.
