LOGAR, Nov. 11 – with the financial assistance of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) construction of seven agricultural projects started in Logar.

The projects include the construction of water ponds to store the water needed by orchards in the Pul Alam city and Mohammad Agha and Cherkh Logar districts.

The provincial head of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock in Logar said to BNA that the organization spends sixty five thousand dollars to initiate these projects.

These water resources have the ability to irrigate 37 acres of farmland.

The purpose of building these ponds is to mechanize the agricultural system, especially the growth of horticulture, and increase the yield of gardeners, he added.

These water ponds are supposed to be commissioned in the next three months.
