Today, in the 6th district of Lashkargah city, the capital of Helmand province, the municipal authorities initiated the construction of a 3.5-kilometer road in the Muhajiro and Mukhtar teachers area during a ceremony.

Officials have indicated that this road, funded by the development budget of Lashkargah municipality, traverses the Mukhtar area of Lashkargah city and links to the Kandahar-Herat highway.

In the initial phase, a 1250-meter section of the road, 10 meters wide, will be built by Ishaq Khairkhwa Rahimi Construction Company at a cost of 14 million Afghanis over a 3-month period, as per officials.

Furthermore, officials mention that the road is planned to be constructed in three phases, with the first phase commencing today. The total expenditure for the road amounts to 42 million Afghanis, which will be covered by the municipal development budget.
