 KUNDUZ, May 7 – At least 16 puppets including commander Niyaz were killed and 1 tank was destroyed in the violent fighting along the highway between Kunduz city and Khanabad district of the northern Kunduz province on Sunday morning.

Two enemy soldiers, who admitted that 31 joint enemy personnel had been killed since morning, were also taken captive in the fighting, while Mujahideen seized a good deal of arms and ammo with 2 armored tanks form the enemy’s possession.

Similarly, there is heavy fighting in the limits of Kunduz city close to the eastern entrance to the city in which 2 puppets were killed and 3 more were wounded. A Mujahid is said to have been wounded in the fighting.

Early in the morning Mujahideen overran a check post along the highway which has been in the hands of Mujahideen over the last three days.

Mujahideen cleared a village, chasing the enemy away from a large territory in the limits of Kunduz city, while there has been heavy fighting along the road leading to Khanabad in the last 3 days in which a large number of the enemy sustained heavy casualties.
