Clarification Statement of Islamic Emirate’s spokesman regarding the claims of Hizb-e-Islami

Last week some media outlets aired claims by Hizb-e-Islami spokesman – Qareeburrahman – that leaders of the Islamic Emirate contacted them and expressed inclination towards peace talks. We unequivocally reject these claims. No such contacts have taken place and neither should members of Hizb-e-Islami make such baseless propaganda claims. Hizb should not misuse the policies of Islamic Emirate for political gains.

The Islamic Emirate’s policy is that the surrendering of arms to the enemy and assisting them in their objectives is prohibited under Islamic law and in contradiction to the hopes and dreams of millions of our martyrs.
