KABUL, Nov. 05 – The Ambassador of People’s Republic of China, Mr. Zhao Xing, called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.

 

During the meeting, talks were held on enhancing bilateral diplomatic relations, recent regional developments and other issues pertaining to bilateral security and economic domains.

 

At the outset, expressing happiness with hospitality of China and positive outcomes of discussions held during his last visit, FM Muttaqi said scope of IEA-PRC cooperation is broadening.

Calling relations of the two countries positive, Mr. Xing illustrated China’s interest in further strengthening diplomatic relations.

 

Talks also focused on forced deportation of Afghan refugees from Pakistan. FM Muttaqi highlighted measures taken by the Afghan government to reintegrate returnees in the country, as well as problems arising from forced deporting at the beginning of the cold winter, usurping their assets and other rights, & several other related issues.

Showing readiness to look into providing assistance, Mr. Xing expressed hope that the governments of Afghanistan and Pakistan will be able to resolve this issue in a cordial manner.
