Ceremony celebrating 8th of Sawr held in Nangarhar

NANGARHAR, Apr. 29 – The Nangarhar Department of Information and Culture held a large gathering in Jalalabad city’s Amir Shaheed Garden to commemorate the 31st anniversary of the Mujahideen’s victory on the 8th of Sawr. The gathering was attended by the heads of the military and civil institutions of Nangarhar province, provincial scholars, mujahideen, district representatives, lawyers, and young people.

According to details the meeting started with the recitation of several blessed verses of the Holy Quran, followed by the Director of Information, Mawlawi Siddiqullah Qureshi opening speech.

Celebrating such historic and proud days is the duty of the Department of Information and Culture, whose purpose is to introduce these days to the youth and the new generation of the country and keep the memory of the historical days fresh.

Then the Chairman of Nangarhar Ulema Council Sheikh Al-Hadith Mawlawi Hazrat Jan said in his speech: The noble people of Afghanistan, whenever the invaders invaded this country with their evil intentions, have started Jihad according to their noble intentions. Therefore all the invaders were forced to flee the country.

This is not simple, but owing to the people’s love for the Islamic nation and religion, we are celebrating another historic day of gaining this triumph today, he continued.

He said that this link had been carried on to us 1400 years ago, and that it has continued to this day, with our victory over America and NATO, another significant global invading force, and the establishment of the Islamic system in our nation, Alhamdulillah.

Later, Mawlawi Mir Abbas Gohari, Ustad Abdul Rahim Saraf, Deputy of 201 Khalid Bin Waleed Corps, Mawlawi Mohammad Nizami, Atta Al Rahman Fateh, Head of Jalalabad Municipality, adressed the ceremoney and said: The coup on the 7th of Sawr was the beginning of the misfortunes of our country. They destroyed our institutions and after that one million people were martyred in this country, disabled and millions of people were forced to emigrate and fled from their homes to neighboring countries in bad conditions.

The speakers said; As a result of the great sacrifices of the Mujahideen, 31 years ago today, on the 8th of Thor, the Mujahideen successfully overthrew the communist system and came to power, but unfortunately, they did not have enough experience in governance. They faced bad results.

The deputy commander of the corps said in his speech; Now, thankfully, the objectives of the Mujahideen, which were to bring about the Islamic system, have been achieved. Now this system is the ruler and all the peoples have a part in this system, but still some selfish groups are spreading false propaganda.

He said: This nation is all Mujahid, in one way or another they participated in Jihad and all the doors of the Islamic system are open to the people.

The meeting ended with a prayer by Mawlawi Lal Muhammad Siddiqui, vice president of the Nangarhar Ulema Council.

It should be said that in the meeting, a number of poets also shared their prepared poems and hymns to the participants of the meeting.
