As of the 16th of Zul Hijjah, 1445, significant advancements have been made in the bituminization work of the second layer of the road between Arghandi area and Durrani Bazar on the Kabul-Kandahar highway.
The Ministry of Public Works has been diligently carrying out the bituminization work, specifically focusing on the second layer (known as the binder course) of the 27-kilometer stretch from Arghandi area to Durrani Bazar. The progress on this section has been rapid.
Last year, the Ministry of Public Works initiated the essential repair and reconstruction of the Kabul-Kandahar highway. The first phase, which spans 27 kilometers from Arghandi area in Kabul province to Durrani Bazar in Maidan Wardak province, saw the completion of 95 percent of the first layer. Currently, the second layer is being swiftly worked on and will be utilized once the third layer (known as the wiring course) is completed.
Furthermore, it is noteworthy that the repair and reconstruction efforts for the second phase of the highway have commenced, covering a length of 17.9 kilometers from Durrni Bazar to Zarni area in Maidan Wardak province. Progress is currently underway for this section as well.
