HELMAND, Oct. 03 – Amid the ongoing annual ‘Omari’ operations, a large enemy outpost located in Babak desert near Garmsir district center was overrun by Mujahideen of Islamic Emirate during a brief overnight assault.
It is said that 12 gunmen were killed and wounded in the operation (2 corpses left behind) before the rest fled, leaving behind 3 APCs, 5 vehicles, 1 quad bike, a PKM, 3 rifles as well as heavy and light arms ammunition which were taken as spoils by the Mujahideen.
Officials add that a Mujahid was also reportedly injured by enemy fire.
