Local authorities in Balkh Province have announced the revival of the state-owned Bactrian Cotton Oil Factory in Mazar-e-Sharif city, the provincial capital, after a fifteen-year hiatus. The factory officials reveal that following the Islamic Emirate’s governance, these facilities underwent renovations over the past two years.

Afghan engineers’ permits were reinstated, leading to the current production of top-quality oil. Mohammad Siddiq Barati, the operational manager of the state-owned Bactrian Cotton Oil Factory, states that the factory currently produces 3,700 kilograms of oil within a 24-hour period.

Furthermore, with the activation of additional machinery, production levels are projected to increase to as high as 6,000 kilograms of oil.
