The inauguration of the asphalt project encompassing both lanes of Khaja Kala road extending to the water’s end, spanning over 3 kilometers, comes at a cost of approximately 44.5 million Afghanis drawn from Herat Municipality’s development budget.
This project, allocated to the seventh and fourteenth districts, includes both the east and west lanes, measuring around 3200 meters in total length with an average lane width of 9 meters. The unveiling ceremony, attended by Alhaj Mullah Nematullah Hassan Sahib, Mayor of Herat, municipal officials, district representatives from the seventh and fourteenth districts, community elders, and residents, was led by the West Development Construction Company.
Assuring the residents of Herat, Mayor Alhaj Mullah Nematullah Hassan emphasized the rigorous quality control measures undertaken by municipal departments to ensure the project’s high standards.
Furthermore, Mayor Hassan urged project contractors to adhere to specified standards, complete the work promptly, and finish before the onset of winter.
Residents from the seventh and fourteenth districts expressed joy at the project’s initiation, highlighting the anticipated traffic benefits from the newly asphalted road. They lauded Herat Municipality’s efforts in executing development projects, fostering progress in Herat city, and encouraged fellow citizens to collaborate with the municipality across all sectors.
