During a press briefing at the Government Media and Information Center, representatives from the Ministry of Information and Culture presented an extensive overview of the ministry’s endeavors throughout the preceding year.

As per the reports provided by the officials, the ministry inked Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with 100 educational institutions and training facilities. These agreements facilitated complimentary access to higher education for 1,581 individuals and offered discounted rates to an additional 17,787 individuals, both within the capital city and across diverse provinces.

The officials emphasized the collaborative establishment of 18 youth capacity-enhancement centers with international organizations, benefiting approximately 14,000 young individuals thus far.

Furthermore, the ministry orchestrated 310 educational seminars and cultural gatherings aimed at empowering the youth, underscoring this initiative as a prominent achievement within the past year.

In the domain of tourism, ministry representatives disclosed that over the previous year, 9,000 foreign visitors explored Afghanistan’s historical and recreational sites. Additionally, 9 million domestic tourists were recorded during the same timeframe.

Demonstrating a steadfast dedication to bolstering the tourism sector, the ministry recently activated the Tourism and Hospitality Institute, where numerous young individuals are presently undergoing professional training programs.

In a bid to enhance the tourism landscape, the ministry is currently overseeing the construction of multiple standard hotels in various provinces to elevate tourism infrastructure.

Moreover, the ministry revealed that it oversees 3,000 registered tourism enterprises, offering both direct and indirect job opportunities to numerous individuals.

Officials disclosed that 620 journalists have been granted press credentials, guidelines for YouTube channels have been finalized, and the Journalist Fund guidelines have been drafted.

Moreover, a thorough scientific survey encompassing 400 archaeological sites across 14 provinces has been conducted, resulting in the identification and documentation of 371 archaeological sites.

Among the noteworthy accomplishments of the ministry in the past year are the coordination of 12 theatrical performances, the registration of 2,410 historical artifacts spanning various eras, and the prevention of 416 artifact smuggling incidents at Kabul International Airport and various customs checkpoints nationwide.

Officials also highlighted the production and airing of six documentaries on diverse subjects, the revision of 11 scripts for films and TV series, and the organization of 20 exhibitions showcasing paintings, calligraphy, miniatures, and handicrafts.

The ministry’s efforts have significantly advanced the operations of the Bakhtar News Agency, state newspapers, and the Bihaqi Library, enriching and fortifying their activities.
