During a press briefing held at the Government Media and Information Center, representatives from the Prison Administration Authority unveiled their annual performance review.

 

As per the assessment, following the directive of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate, 3,200 detainees were released during the holy periods of Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, and Eid al-Adha, while special sentence reductions were granted to an additional 1,655 individuals.

 

Furthermore, the Authority oversaw the release of 3,243 inmates in accordance with court mandates, managed the relocation of 3,016 prisoners between various provinces and facilities, and coordinated with the Supreme Court to address the cases of 1,562 detainees.

 

Officials highlighted that 2,241 prisoners successfully completed religious education programs, with 6,408 others currently enrolled in such courses. Additionally, 1,954 inmates graduated from literacy programs, while 2,350 are actively involved in ongoing educational initiatives.

 

Regarding vocational training, 1,122 prisoners are presently undergoing training, with 337 individuals having completed vocational programs in diverse fields over the past year.

 

The previous year also marked the finalization of the comprehensive plan for the year 1403 in the Solar Hijri Calendar, alongside the formulation of the Authority’s policy and strategic blueprint.

 

To address financial requirements and ensure provisions for medical care, sustenance, vocational training, and the enhancement of various departments, the Authority forged collaborative agreements with several organizations.

 

In a bid to bolster the professional competencies of prison staff, the Authority conducted workshops and training sessions for 680 officers and soldiers, with an additional 160 personnel currently undergoing professional development.

 

Moreover, notable strides were achieved through the operationalization of medical, support, and preventive units within the Authority’s 50-bed hospital, catering to the medical needs of 418,857 detainees and personnel over the preceding year.
