During his participation in a joint economic delegation to Turkmenistan, Alhaj Mullah Bakht-ur-Rehman Sharafat, the Deputy Minister of Railways at the Ministry of Public Works, executed two agreements. These agreements pertain to the enhancement of the Turghondi port and the establishment of a 22-kilometer railway from Turghondi to Sanobar in the Herat province, with the involvement of Turkmenistan.

The imminent commencement of these projects involves the development of the Turghondi port and the construction of the Turghondi-Sanobar railway, spanning 22 kilometers from Turkmenistan.

Of particular significance is the Turghondi port, recognized as a pivotal nexus between Central and South Asia.

Its construction and expansion are poised to offer enhanced facilities for traders and expedite the transfer of commercial goods.
