The Ministry of Industry reports that the trade volume between Afghanistan and Iran has surpassed $1.8 billion.

During the initial seven months of 2014, the trade transactions between Afghanistan and Iran amounted to over $1.8 billion, incorporating both petroleum and non-petroleum goods, as stated by Akhundzada Abdul Salam Javad, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

Javad Akhundzada highlighted the expanding nature of trade and transit with Iran, noting that Afghanistan’s trade with Iran in the first seven months of 2014 amounted to $1.827 billion, with exports totaling $30 million and imports reaching $1.797 billion.

He specified that key export items include mineral stones, raisins, soft drinks, and sesame seeds, while major import commodities consist of diesel oil, petrol, raw materials for factories, liquefied gas, and cement.
