During a conference showcasing Afghanistan’s electricity energy investment prospects, Dr. Abdulbari Umar Sahib, the Executive Director of Afghanistan Electricity Company (DABS), stated that the country possesses the potential to generate substantial amounts of electricity from various sources.
Mr. Umar highlighted Afghanistan’s capability to produce 222 megawatts of solar power, 24,000 megawatts of hydropower, 67,000 megawatts of wind power, 4,000 megawatts of electricity from waste, as well as significant capacities for electricity generation from coal and natural gas.
He urged international organizations to seize the opportunity to invest in Afghanistan’s electricity sector.
