A trade delegation from Afghanistan, led by Minister of Industry and Commerce Nuruddin Azizi, and Uzbekistan, led by Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Qudratov, convened in Termez, Uzbekistan.

The Afghan Ministry of Industry and Commerce reported that the discussions at the meeting centered on Uzbekistan’s potential investments across various economic sectors in Afghanistan. These sectors include the establishment of an economic-commercial complex in the Hairatan port town, food production and processing, poultry farming, pharmaceuticals, cement and construction materials manufacturing, pistachio orchards, as well as the processing of vegetables and fruits.

The initial phase of these projects is valued at over $200 million and is slated for implementation in Balkh, Samangan, and Kunduz provinces.

Additionally, the meeting addressed plans to set up a regional exhibition in Termez, establish chambers of commerce between the two nations, enhance customs collaboration, expand agricultural partnerships, facilitate long-term business visas for traders, and institute a joint committee aimed at resolving traders’ issues.
