Mr. Zakir Jalali, the Director of the Second Political Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, along with his delegation, convened in Ankara with Mr. Jihad Ergunay, the Director of South Asia at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and former Ambassador to Kabul.
During this session, they deliberated on the most recent advancements in the bilateral relations between the two nations, prospective actions, trade and transit prospects, as well as various other matters of shared interest.
At the outset, Mr. Zakir Jalali expressed gratitude to the Turkish counterparts for their efforts in resolving impediments in bilateral relations and conveyed optimism for the enhancement and fortification of practical cooperation.
Moreover, Mr. Jalali presented a message from the Afghan Minister of Foreign Affairs, addressed to his Turkish counterpart, to the Turkish delegation.
Mr. Jihad Ergunay emphasized the significance of the political discussions between the two countries and articulated his nation’s intent to broaden relations with Afghanistan across multiple domains.
The dialogue also broached the establishment of a collaborative commission to oversee bilateral affairs, particularly focusing on trade and transit issues closely. Both parties agreed to sustain such interactions between their respective Ministries of Foreign Affairs.
