During a meeting with the Governor of Herat, Mawlana Islam Jar, the Turkmen delegation, along with the head of the Tapi project, Amanov, delved into the technical advancements of the Tapi initiative. They specifically addressed the necessity for support in establishing the consortium office, customs department, and temporary engineering camps in Herat.

 

The Acting Governor of Herat, Sahib, lauded the Tapi project’s significance and pledged to ensure security and necessary facilities for its success. The Tapi Pipeline, designed to transport Turkmenistan’s gas to Pakistan and India via Afghanistan, stands as a prominent regional venture. With a length spanning 1821 km and an annual transfer capacity of 33 billion cubic meters, officials anticipate that Afghanistan will reap annual transit revenues amounting to $400 million from this undertaking.
