The Administrative Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, engaged in a meeting yesterday afternoon with the Head of the Muslim Administration of Uzbekistan and the Grand Mufti, Sheikh Nuruddin Khaliq Nazar.

At the onset, the Head of the Muslim Administration of Uzbekistan and the Grand Mufti extended a warm welcome to Deputy Prime Minister Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, portraying his visit to Uzbekistan as a testament to the long-standing friendship and historical ties between the two nations.

 

Highlighting the religious, historical, and cultural parallels between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, they emphasized the potential to enhance relations across various domains more extensively than ever before. The Grand Mufti of Uzbekistan underscored the value of such visits in fortifying cultural bonds and shared values, urging for the fullest utilization of these opportunities.

 

Subsequently, Deputy Prime Minister Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi emphasized the advancement and consolidation of relations between the two countries, highlighting that such visits and intellectual exchanges among scholars play a pivotal role in fortifying and nurturing the ties between the two fraternal nations.

 

Expressing that the primary objective of the visit is to fortify and cultivate relations between the two countries to achieve mutual interests, Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi underlined the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s efforts to establish a foundation for fresh cooperation based on existing commonalities and to take proactive steps in reinforcing relations.

 

Moreover, Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi stressed the importance of collaboration between scholars from both nations in educational and training initiatives. As part of this visit, a visit was organized to the Islamic Center of Tashkent and the region’s historical Islamic landmarks.
