KABUL, Jan. 12 – Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Pakistan’s Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Party, along with his delegation, held a meeting today in Kabul with Alhaj Khalil Rehman Haqqani, the Acting Minister for Refugees and Returnees Affairs. The focus of the meeting was on addressing the issues faced by refugees in Pakistan.

Expressing a warm welcome, the Minister of Refugee Affairs acknowledged that both the Afghan and Pakistan’s people have endured hardships as a result of foreign invasions and wars in Afghanistan. Pakistan has been hosting Afghan refugees for over four decades, and their presence cannot be overlooked. The minister emphasized the importance of allowing refugees to return voluntarily and gradually to their homeland.

Mawlawi Abdul Rahman Rashid, the Professional Deputy, praised the visit to Afghanistan as a positive step benefiting both countries. He urged Pakistani scholars to fulfill their religious and Sharia responsibility by advocating for refugees and promoting respectful behavior towards them.

Mohammad Arsalah Khoroti, the Financial and Administrative Assistant, also addressed the meeting, highlighting that Afghan refugees have spent the past 40 years in Pakistan as if it were their own country. He expressed hope that Afghans would eventually return to their homeland with joy and fond memories.

Maulana Fazlur Rahman stated that the purpose of their visit to Afghanistan was to discuss and jointly work towards resolving the problems at hand. He emphasized their ongoing efforts in raising awareness and finding solutions to the challenges faced by the refugees.
