Acting Minister of Higher Education Meets Iranian Ambassador

KABUL, Oct. 27 – Deputy Ministers of Higher Education, Sheikh Abdul Baqi Haqqani met the Ambassador of Iran, Bahadur Aminian, and discussed bilateral educational relations, as well as ongoing academic cooperation.

Mr. Aminyan expressed Iran’s commitment and readiness for continued relations and cooperation in the field of education in Afghanistan as well as providing scholarships for Afghan students and teachers in various fields such as engineering, technical and other fields, while also facilitating women’s education and online education in Afghanistan in accordance with IEA policy.

The Acting Minister of Higher Education thanked the Ambassador of neighboring Iran for his support and assistance in the field of education in Afghanistan and said that over the past 20 years, Afghanistan’s education system has been influenced by Western misconceptions and we are trying to re-standardize the country’s education system and make it more conducive to the development and prosperity of Afghanistan, in which the cooperation of neighboring Iran, which has a religious relationship with our country, is even more important,” he added.
