KABUL, Nov. 21 – Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi met Norwegian Chargé d’Affaires for Afghanistan Paul Kloman in Kabul and discussed humanitarian aid, security, development cooperation and several other political issues.

As always, the country is ready for long-term relations with Afghanistan and is trying to reach out to Afghans, expressed Norwegian Chargé d’Affaires.

Minister Muttaqi said the world and Afghanistan should be brought closer together, and Norway has good experience and can play a positive role and added that the positive measures of the new Afghan government should be appreciated and a positive response should be made.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs said; After decades, we have ensured overall security, no one is killed or displaced due to raids, bombings or war. Also, we have stopped drug cultivation and trafficking and tens of thousands of drug addicts are under treatment, he said.

The foreign minister said, as history has shown, using pressure options in Afghanistan is not useful and now we should cooperate with each other.

Norwegian Chargé d’Affaires praised better security in Afghanistan compared to the past and said that humanitarian aid is now reaching remote areas. He also explained that his country has introduced new diplomats through interaction with Afghanistan, who will improve relations.

In the end, both sides emphasized interaction and cooperation.
