A Few Frank Points to Ponder for the New American President

You are the third president of the United States entangled in the quagmire of the war in Afghanistan. As per your own statistics, more than one trillion dollars have been spent on the war so far but nothing has been achieved except the staining of innocent Afghans in their blood and destruction of villages and gardens. Apart from that, you have lost your previous credibility in the world. So, the responsibility to bring to an end this war also rests on your shoulders.

Apparently, this war was started under a pretext in which neither any Afghan was involved nor has it independently been investigated to find out the actor behind the event. It is worth mentioning that those who give you council about the clash of civilizations are in fact the enemies of civilization and humanity. Moreover, your generals would give you unrealistic reports about Afghanistan as they have given such reports to former presidents. They would emphasize on continuation of war and occupation of Afghanistan because they can have better positions and privileges in war. Meanwhile, your analysts may have prepared their analysis regarding Afghanistan twenty thousand kilometers away from the country and would submit them to you. They would try to emphasize on the repetition of the hackneyed slogans of terrorism to be fruitful but in fact, most of their analysis do not reflect the ground realities of Afghanistan. Rather, they would sink you further into this quagmire.

You have to realize that the Afghan Muslim nation has risen against foreign occupation. They are defending their faith, country, human dignity, and freedom. You certainly like to have an independent country for yourself and do not even accept foreign troops in any neighboring country of America so, why do you not accept this legitimate right of the Afghan Muslim nation? You (America) have grabbed independence of our country and imposed a surrogate Administration on the Muslim people of Afghanistan. As such, you are flaring up flames of fighting. There is no terrorism in Afghanistan. This is just a slogan and a mere allegation.

We had sent an open letter to the American Congress in 2010, which was publicized in media at that time and we had said that:

“From the time you have invaded Afghanistan and the armed Jihad was started against occupation, you have detained tens of thousands of people under the name of armed opposition. We ask your top brass to please show only hundred foreigners among those detained and then we would accept that non-Afghans are really fighting against you in Afghanistan.”

If you have not been able to prove this claim of yours during the past one and a half decade then you have to realize that the current fighting in Afghanistan is but an Islamic Afghan popular resistance against your occupation. You are not actually fighting against a group but you are confronting a nation.

This issue could not be solved by the influx of troops nor was it solved through such tactic in the past. The bitter experiences of the former Administrations of America during the past years have clearly proven this. Therefore, instead of following the past policies, it would be better for you to come with a rationale solution. End the occupation. Alternatively, assist countries in reconstruction and development instead of bloodshed and destruction. This will restore peace in our country and region and will allow you to restore your credibility in the world.
