8 killed, 2 vehicles destroyed as 2 posts overrun in Shawalikot

KANDAHAR, Sep. 04 – Report arriving from Shawalikot district of southern Kandahar province says that amid ongoing ‘Operation Omari’, Mujahideen carried out coordinated attacks on 2 enemy security check points in Taghrak area overnight.
Attacks of heavy and light weapons continued till midnight, overrunning both check posts, destroying 2 rangers, killing 8 ANP gunmen and forcing the rest to flee leaving corpses on the battle ground.
A PKM machine gun, 2 RPG launchers, 3 rifles, several ammo and other war tolls were confiscated in the successful operation.
As many 4 Mujahideen have been wounded and another one martyred in the combat.
