    • KANDAHAR, Jan. 19 – Reports arriving from Maiwnad district of southern Kandahar province state that, Mujahideen of Islamic Emirate attacked Commander Shah Muhammad’s check post in Shalghami area overnight.
    Attacks of heavy and light arms resulting in the post overrun after a brief resistance, killing 8 puppets including the said commander while seizing 5 rifles along with other equipment as well as destroying a motorbike.
    It is said that 2 Mujahideen were also wounded in the crossfire.
